Unfortunately, the school has had to close to some children – these are now learning from home (remote learning). If you have elected to participate in online remote learning, this will primarily be managed via Google Classroom. Your child will have received a learning pack and login details. Every child has access to live-streamed lessons every day – lesson times are posted in your child’s Google Classroom. All children should follow the school’s rules of Google Meet and Google Classroom. If you have elected to participate in off-line remote learning, you will have received your first fortnightly delivery of work. Work should be returned when your new pack is delivered. Online lessons are available to all, so even if you have elected to receive off-line learning your child can still join some or all of the lessons – there is no need to let us know. If you have any difficulties accessing online lessons or any questions about remote learning, please contact the school on 0161 430 4601.
The school expects that all children able to do so should participate in all live lessons available to them. Attendance registers are taken and absences followed up. The school will endeavour to support all families to engage with digital remote learning and will provide all the support available to it.
Expectations of children and parents
The school expects all children to engage with remote learning to the fullest of their ability. Participation will be regularly monitored and any concerns will be raised with parents. Parental support is vital to the success of remote learning and the school hopes that parents and carers will fully support their children, for example by setting routines and providing a suitable place to work.
