School is closed for most pupils.

The reason for schools closing is to stop the spread of Coronavirus – COVID19, a highly infectious disease.  It is important, therefore, that schools should only be open with a very limited number of children if this is to be successful and we are to support the medical evidence and minimise risk by reducing contact with other people.

Schools can only remain open if we have enough staff to do so, so we may have to limit who we have in school and may not be able to continue this long term if we lose staff due to their own circumstances and health needs.

The Government has asked parents/carers to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and for schools to remain open only for children who absolutely need to attend.

May I please also stress that even as a key worker, if your child is symptomatic, or anyone else in the household has symptoms, now or in the days ahead they cannot attend school under any circumstances for a period of 14 days.

Also please be reminded, that if your child has any underlying serious health conditions, e.g. asthma, bronchitis, etc they should not be in school under any circumstances at the present time.

I thank you for all your support so far in this matter.  We may be closed to the majority of pupils but we are in no way closed in terms of our ongoing care for all our families, and remain here for any support you may need.
