EYFS Learning Environment

At St. Bernadette’s we encourage children to become independent and curious learners. We aim to provide an attractive, challenging learning environment that offers high quality opportunities for the children to learn.

Our environment is structured to reflect the children’s varying interests and individual learning styles. We are also fortunate to have a secure, stimulating outdoor learning environment. We place equal importance on the indoor and outdoor learning environments. Our outdoor learning environment provides opportunities for reading, writing and the exploration of number and shape, space and measure. There are also many opportunities for the children to develop their fine and gross motor skills.

There is a sharp focus on Literacy and Communication and Language and there are opportunities for applying reading, writing and number skills in all areas of the continuous provision.
