Curriculum Vision

“For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. “  Jeremiah 29:11.

As a Catholic school, faith is the bedrock of St. Bernadette’s and we endeavour to place Christ at the heart of everything we do.  Our school is wholeheartedly committed to working in partnership with pupils, parents, the parish and the wider community to ensure we provide the highest quality of education across all curricular areas, with the needs of the whole child – spiritual, emotional, social, physical and academic – being recognised, nurtured and developed.

The school exists to provide all children with a high quality learning experience, within an educationally stimulating, supportive and safe environment.  We have high expectations of our pupils and seek to develop lifelong learners who have the knowledge, skills, attitudes and learning attributes which will enable them to achieve their life goals.

Mission Statement

God cares for us.

I always try my best in my work.

We care for everyone around us.

It is important that we learn to work together as a team.

We are all special and we try hard to be good friends with each other.

Curriculum Vision

We offer an exciting, rich, challenging and experiential curriculum which inspires learning, identifies talents, promotes achievement and celebrates success.  Our curriculum offer ensures that all our children become engaged, active and responsible citizens who leave St. Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School well prepared for future success in the next stage of their lives. High quality teaching enables pupils to enjoy their learning, achieve their potential and develop as individuals.

This includes stimulating lessons which:

  • Improve knowledge, skills and understanding;
  • Endeavour to overcome barriers to learning;
  • Make clear to pupils the next steps to further improvement;
  • And promote behaviour conducive for all to learn.

Opportunities are provided for all pupils to receive appropriate levels of challenge and support and to broaden their spiritual,moral,cultural, social, physical and mental development.  We strive to foster creativity in our children to help them become independent learners. Above all, we believe in making learning fun.
